मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-2, verse-94

न जातु कामः कामानामुपभोगेन शाम्यति ।
हविषा कृष्णवर्त्मैव भूय एवाभिवर्धते ॥९४॥
94. na jātu kāmaḥ kāmānāmupabhogena śāmyati ,
haviṣā kṛṣṇavartmaiva bhūya evābhivardhate.

94. kāmaḥ jātu kāmānām upabhogena na śāmyati

94. Desire (kāma) is never pacified by the enjoyment of desires. It only increases further, just as fire (Agni) grows with oblations.
