मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-2, verse-47

ऋजवस्ते तु सर्वे स्युरव्रणाः सौम्यदर्शनाः ।
अनुद्वेगकरा नॄणां सत्वचोऽनग्निदूषिताः ॥४७॥
47. ṛjavaste tu sarve syuravraṇāḥ soṁyadarśanāḥ ,
anudvegakarā nṝṇāṁ satvaco'nagnidūṣitāḥ.
47. ṛjavaḥ te tu sarve syuḥ avraṇāḥ saumyadarśanāḥ
anudvegakarāḥ nṝṇām satvacaḥ anagnidūṣitāḥ
47. Indeed, all of them should be straight, without flaws, of gentle appearance, not causing distress to people, with their bark intact, and not scorched by fire.
