मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-2, verse-92

एकादशं मनो ज्ञेयं स्वगुणेनौभयात्मकम ।
यस्मिन जिते जितावेतौ भवतः पञ्चकौ गणौ ॥९२॥
92. ekādaśaṁ mano jñeyaṁ svaguṇenaubhayātmakam ,
yasmin jite jitāvetau bhavataḥ pañcakau gaṇau.
92. ekādaśam manaḥ jñeyam svaguṇena ubhayātmakam |
yasmin jite jitā etau bhavataḥ pañcakau gaṇau |
92. manaḥ ekādaśam svaguṇena ubhayātmakam jñeyam
yasmin jite etau pañcakau gaṇau jitāḥ bhavataḥ
92. The eleventh (organ), the mind (manas), should be understood as having a dual nature because of its inherent quality. When it (the mind) is conquered, these two groups of five (organs) are also conquered.
