मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-2, verse-83

एकाक्षरं परं ब्रह्म प्राणायामः परं तपः ।
सावित्र्यास्तु परं नास्ति मौनात सत्यं विशिष्यते ॥८३॥
83. ekākṣaraṁ paraṁ brahma prāṇāyāmaḥ paraṁ tapaḥ ,
sāvitryāstu paraṁ nāsti maunāt satyaṁ viśiṣyate.

sāvitryāḥ tu param na asti maunāt satyam viśiṣyate

83. The single syllable (Om) is the supreme (brahman), and breath control (prāṇāyāma) is the highest austerity (tapas). Indeed, there is nothing superior to the Gayatri Mantra, and truth is superior to silence.
