महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-82, verse-79

ततो गृध्रवटं गच्छेत्स्थानं देवस्य धीमतः ।
स्नायीत भस्मना तत्र अभिगम्य वृषध्वजम् ॥७९॥
79. tato gṛdhravaṭaṁ gacchetsthānaṁ devasya dhīmataḥ ,
snāyīta bhasmanā tatra abhigamya vṛṣadhvajam.

79. Then, one should go to Gṛdhravaṭa, the place of the wise god (Shiva). There, after approaching Vṛṣadhvaja (Shiva), one should bathe with ashes.
