महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-82, verse-67

शतसाहस्रिकं तत्र तीर्थं भरतसत्तम ।
तत्रोपस्पर्शनं कृत्वा नियतो नियताशनः ।
गोसहस्रफलं पुण्यं प्राप्नोति भरतर्षभ ॥६७॥
67. śatasāhasrikaṁ tatra tīrthaṁ bharatasattama ,
tatropasparśanaṁ kṛtvā niyato niyatāśanaḥ ,
gosahasraphalaṁ puṇyaṁ prāpnoti bharatarṣabha.

67. O best of Bharatas, there is a holy place (tīrtha) there worth a hundred thousand. Having performed a ritual ablution there, restrained and with regulated food intake, one attains the merit of a thousand cows, O bull among Bharatas.
