महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-82, verse-13

ऋषयोऽभ्यागतास्तत्र देव्या भक्त्या तपोधनाः ।
आतिथ्यं च कृतं तेषां शाकेन किल भारत ।
ततः शाकम्भरीत्येव नाम तस्याः प्रतिष्ठितम् ॥१३॥
13. ṛṣayo'bhyāgatāstatra devyā bhaktyā tapodhanāḥ ,
ātithyaṁ ca kṛtaṁ teṣāṁ śākena kila bhārata ,
tataḥ śākambharītyeva nāma tasyāḥ pratiṣṭhitam.
13. ṛṣayaḥ abhyāgatāḥ tatra devyā bhaktyā
tapodhanāḥ ātithyam ca kṛtam teṣām
śākena kila bhārata tataḥ śākambharī
iti eva nāma tasyāḥ pratiṣṭhitam
13. O Bhārata, it is said that sages, rich in asceticism (tapas), arrived there, and the Goddess, with devotion (bhakti), offered them hospitality with vegetables. Therefore, her name Śākambharī itself became established.
