चत्वार एकतो वेदा भारतं चैकमेकतः ।
समागतैः सुरर्षिभिस्तुलामारोपितं पुरा ।

208. Formerly, when assembled divine sages placed the four Vedas on one side of a balance scale and the single Mahābhārata on the other, it (the Mahābhārata) was found to be greater than them, both in significance and in weight.
