महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-1, verse-188

कालः पचति भूतानि कालः संहरति प्रजाः ।
निर्दहन्तं प्रजाः कालं कालः शमयते पुनः ॥१८८॥
188. kālaḥ pacati bhūtāni kālaḥ saṁharati prajāḥ ,
nirdahantaṁ prajāḥ kālaṁ kālaḥ śamayate punaḥ.

nirdahantam prajāḥ kālam kālaḥ śamayate punaḥ
188. Time consumes all beings; Time destroys creatures. Even that Time which burns up creatures, Time itself again brings to an end.
