महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-1, verse-161

संजयैवंगते प्राणांस्त्यक्तुमिच्छामि माचिरम् ।
स्तोकं ह्यपि न पश्यामि फलं जीवितधारणे ॥१६१॥
161. saṁjayaivaṁgate prāṇāṁstyaktumicchāmi māciram ,
stokaṁ hyapi na paśyāmi phalaṁ jīvitadhāraṇe.
161. saṃjaya evam gate prāṇān tyaktum icchāmi mā ciram
| stokam hi api na paśyāmi phalam jīvitadhāraṇe
161. O Sanjaya, with things having come to such a pass, I wish to give up my life without delay. Indeed, I do not see even a little benefit in continuing to live.
