तमाह सौमित्रिरदीनसत्त्वो विस्फारयन्तं धनुरप्रमेयम् ।
अन्वेहि मामेव निशाचरेन्द्र न वानरांस्त्वं प्रति योद्धुमर्हसि ॥८९॥
89. tamāha saumitriradīnasattvo visphārayantaṃ dhanuraprameyam ,
anvehi māmeva niśācarendra na vānarāṃstvaṃ prati yoddhumarhasi.

89. Saumitri (Lakṣmaṇa), whose spirit was not humble, said to him (Rāvaṇa), who was stretching his immeasurable bow: "O lord of the night-prowlers (Rākṣasas), come after me alone! You are not fit to fight against mere monkeys."
