स तं गृहीत्वानिलतुल्यवेगं सविस्फुलिङ्गज्वलनप्रकाशम् ।
बाणं महेन्द्राशनितुल्यवेगं चिक्षेप सुग्रीववधाय रुष्टः ॥३७॥
37. sa taṃ gṛhītvānilatulyavegaṃ savisphuliṅgajvalanaprakāśam ,
bāṇaṃ mahendrāśanitulyavegaṃ cikṣepa sugrīvavadhāya ruṣṭaḥ.

37. Enraged, he (Rāvaṇa), having taken up that arrow which had the speed of the wind, shone like a blazing fire with sparks, and possessed a speed equal to Mahendra's thunderbolt, hurled it for the destruction of Sugrīva.
