3. saṃkhye prahastaṃ nihataṃ niśamya śokārditaḥ krodhaparītacetāḥ ,

Upon hearing that Prahasta had been slain in battle, [Rāvaṇa], afflicted by sorrow and with his mind engulfed by rage, spoke to the chief rākṣasa warriors, just as Indra would address the chief divine warriors.
