महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-29, verse-96

शतं राजसहस्राणि शतं राजशतानि च ।
सर्वेऽश्वमेधैरीजानास्तेऽभ्ययुर्दक्षिणायनम् ॥९६॥
96. śataṁ rājasahasrāṇi śataṁ rājaśatāni ca ,
sarve'śvamedhairījānāste'bhyayurdakṣiṇāyanam.
96. śatam rāja-sahasrāṇi śatam rāja-śatāni ca sarve
aśvamedhaiḥ ī jānāḥ te abhyayuḥ dakṣiṇāyanam
96. śatam rāja-sahasrāṇi ca śatam rāja-śatāni,
sarve aśvamedhaiḥ ī jānāḥ,
te dakṣiṇāyanam abhyayuḥ
96. Hundreds of thousands of kings, and tens of thousands of kings – all of them, having performed horse sacrifices (aśvamedha), attained the southern path (dakṣiṇāyana).
