महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-29, verse-127

खानयामास यः कोपात्पृथिवीं सागराङ्किताम् ।
यस्य नाम्ना समुद्रश्च सागरत्वमुपागतः ॥१२७॥
127. khānayāmāsa yaḥ kopātpṛthivīṁ sāgarāṅkitām ,
yasya nāmnā samudraśca sāgaratvamupāgataḥ.

127. He who, out of anger, caused the earth, marked by its oceans, to be dug up. And by whose name the ocean itself came to be called Sāgara.
