महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-29, verse-27

स चेन्ममार सृञ्जय चतुर्भद्रतरस्त्वया ।
पुत्रात्पुण्यतरश्चैव मा पुत्रमनुतप्यथाः ।
अदक्षिणमयज्वानं श्वैत्य संशाम्य मा शुचः ॥२७॥
27. sa cenmamāra sṛñjaya caturbhadratarastvayā ,
putrātpuṇyataraścaiva mā putramanutapyathāḥ ,
adakṣiṇamayajvānaṁ śvaitya saṁśāmya mā śucaḥ.
27. sa cet mamāra sṛñjaya caturbhadrataraḥ
tvayā putrāt puṇyataraḥ ca eva
mā putram anutaphyāḥ adakṣiṇam
ayajvānam śvaitya saṃśāmya mā śucaḥ
27. sṛñjaya śvaitya cet sa mamāra,
tvayā caturbhadrataraḥ putrāt ca eva puṇyataraḥ (āsīt).

27. O Sṛñjaya, if he died, your son was four times more blessed than you, and more meritorious than (any other) son. Do not grieve for your son. O Śvaitya, calm yourself; do not lament like one who performs no Vedic rituals (yajña) and gives no sacrificial fees (dakṣiṇā).
