किं वै तूष्णीं ध्यायसि सृञ्जय त्वं न मे राजन्वाचमिमां शृणोषि ।
न चेन्मोघं विप्रलप्तं मयेदं पथ्यं मुमूर्षोरिव सम्यगुक्तम् ॥१३७॥

137. kiṁ vai tūṣṇīṁ dhyāyasi sṛñjaya tvaṁ; na me rājanvācamimāṁ śṛṇoṣi ,
na cenmoghaṁ vipralaptaṁ mayedaṁ; pathyaṁ mumūrṣoriva samyaguktam.

137. kim vai tūṣṇīm dhyāyasi sṛñjaya tvam
na me rājan vācam imām śṛṇoṣi na
cet mogham vipralaptam mayā idam
pathyam mumūrṣoḥ iva samyak uktam

137. sṛñjaya rājan tvam vai kim tūṣṇīm
dhyāyasi? me imām vācam na śṛṇoṣi?
na cet mayā idam vipralaptam mogham
pathyam mumūrṣoḥ iva samyak uktam

137. O Sṛñjaya, O King, why are you silently contemplating (dhyāna)? Do you not listen to this speech of mine? If not, then what I have said is in vain, though this counsel is wholesome and well-spoken, like advice to one on the verge of death.
