महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-112, verse-99

न च तेऽस्य रुजं चक्रुः पितुस्तव जनेश्वर ।
स्मयमानश्च गाङ्गेयस्तान्बाणाञ्जगृहे तदा ॥९९॥
99. na ca te'sya rujaṁ cakruḥ pitustava janeśvara ,
smayamānaśca gāṅgeyastānbāṇāñjagṛhe tadā.
99. na ca te asya rujam cakruḥ pituḥ tava janeśvara
smayamānaḥ ca gāṅgeyaḥ tān bāṇān jagṛhe tadā
99. janeśvara te asya tava pituḥ rujam na cakruḥ
ca gāṅgeyaḥ smayamānaḥ tadā tān bāṇān jagṛhe
99. O Lord of men, those arrows did not cause your father (Bhishma) any pain. And then, the son of Ganga (Bhishma), smiling, accepted those very arrows.
