महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-131, verse-14

शपेऽहं कृष्णचरणैरिष्टापूर्तेन चैव ह ।
यदि त्वां ससुतं पापं न हन्यां युधि रोषितः ।
अपयास्यसि चेत्त्यक्त्वा ततो मुक्तो भविष्यसि ॥१४॥
14. śape'haṁ kṛṣṇacaraṇairiṣṭāpūrtena caiva ha ,
yadi tvāṁ sasutaṁ pāpaṁ na hanyāṁ yudhi roṣitaḥ ,
apayāsyasi cettyaktvā tato mukto bhaviṣyasi.

14. I swear by the feet of Krishna and by my meritorious acts and charitable deeds (iṣṭāpūrta) that if I, enraged, do not kill you, the wicked one, along with your son, in battle. However, if you abandon the fight and run away, then you will be spared (from my vow).
