महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-80, verse-95

सिन्धूत्तममिति ख्यातं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् ।
तत्र स्नात्वा नरश्रेष्ठ लभेद्बहु सुवर्णकम् ॥९५॥
95. sindhūttamamiti khyātaṁ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam ,
tatra snātvā naraśreṣṭha labhedbahu suvarṇakam.
95. sindhūttamam iti khyātam sarvapāpapraṇāśanam
tatra snātvā naraśreṣṭha labhet bahu suvarṇakam
95. O best among men, this place is renowned as 'Sindhūttama' (the excellent Sindhu), which purifies all sins. By bathing there, one obtains much gold.
