महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-80, verse-89

यत्र ब्रह्मादयो देवा उपासन्ते महेश्वरम् ।
तत्र स्नात्वार्चयित्वा च रुद्रं देवगणैर्वृतम् ।
जन्मप्रभृति पापानि कृतानि नुदते नरः ॥८९॥
89. yatra brahmādayo devā upāsante maheśvaram ,
tatra snātvārcayitvā ca rudraṁ devagaṇairvṛtam ,
janmaprabhṛti pāpāni kṛtāni nudate naraḥ.

maheśvaram tatra snātvā arcayitvā

89. Where Brahmā and other deities worship Maheśvara, a man, after bathing and worshipping Rudra, who is surrounded by throngs of gods, removes the sins committed from the time of his birth.
