महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-80, verse-37

यो दरिद्रैरपि विधिः शक्यः प्राप्तुं नरेश्वर ।
तुल्यो यज्ञफलैः पुण्यैस्तं निबोध युधां वर ॥३७॥
37. yo daridrairapi vidhiḥ śakyaḥ prāptuṁ nareśvara ,
tulyo yajñaphalaiḥ puṇyaistaṁ nibodha yudhāṁ vara.
37. yaḥ daridraiḥ api vidhiḥ śakyaḥ prāptum nara-īśvara
tulyaḥ yajña-phalaiḥ puṇyaiḥ tam nibodha yudhām vara
37. O lord of men, O best of warriors, understand that spiritual practice (vidhi) which can be attained even by the poor, and which is equal to the meritorious results of sacrificial performances (yajña).
