महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-80, verse-55

यथा सुराणां सर्वेषामादिस्तु मधुसूदनः ।
तथैव पुष्करं राजंस्तीर्थानामादिरुच्यते ॥५५॥
55. yathā surāṇāṁ sarveṣāmādistu madhusūdanaḥ ,
tathaiva puṣkaraṁ rājaṁstīrthānāmādirucyate.
55. yathā surāṇām sarveṣām ādiḥ tu madhusūdanaḥ
tathā eva puṣkaram rājan tīrthānām ādiḥ ucyate
55. Just as Madhusūdana (Viṣṇu) is the origin of all gods, similarly, O king, Pushkara is said to be the foremost (ādi) of all holy places (tīrtha).
