महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-107, verse-83

न संनिकृष्टो मेधावी नाशुचिर्न च सत्सु च ।
प्रतिषिद्धान्न धर्मेषु भक्षान्भुञ्जीत पृष्ठतः ॥८३॥
83. na saṁnikṛṣṭo medhāvī nāśucirna ca satsu ca ,
pratiṣiddhānna dharmeṣu bhakṣānbhuñjīta pṛṣṭhataḥ.

83. A wise person (medhāvī) should not eat while being too close (to the food), nor while impure, nor in the presence of good people. He should not eat forbidden foods in the context of food-related religious duties (dharma), nor secretly.
