महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-107, verse-135

अनिमन्त्रितो न गच्छेत यज्ञं गच्छेत्तु दर्शकः ।
अनिमन्त्रिते ह्यनायुष्यं गमनं तत्र भारत ॥१३५॥
135. animantrito na gaccheta yajñaṁ gacchettu darśakaḥ ,
animantrite hyanāyuṣyaṁ gamanaṁ tatra bhārata.
135. animantritaḥ na gaccheta yajñam gacchet tu darśakaḥ
animantrite hi anāyuṣyam gamanam tatra bhārata
135. animantritaḥ na gaccheta; tu darśakaḥ yajñam gacchet.

135. One who is uninvited should not go; but an observer may indeed go to the Vedic ritual (yajña). O Bhārata, going there uninvited shortens life.
