महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-107, verse-58

रोहते सायकैर्विद्धं वनं परशुना हतम् ।
वाचा दुरुक्तं बीभत्सं न संरोहति वाक्क्षतम् ॥५८॥
58. rohate sāyakairviddhaṁ vanaṁ paraśunā hatam ,
vācā duruktaṁ bībhatsaṁ na saṁrohati vākkṣatam.

58. A forest, even if pierced by arrows or cut down by an axe, grows back. But a wound from words (vākkṣatam), harsh and offensive, does not heal.
