महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-107, verse-113

नक्तं न कुर्यात्पित्र्याणि भुक्त्वा चैव प्रसाधनम् ।
पानीयस्य क्रिया नक्तं न कार्या भूतिमिच्छता ॥११३॥

113. naktaṁ na kuryātpitryāṇi bhuktvā caiva prasādhanam ,
pānīyasya kriyā naktaṁ na kāryā bhūtimicchatā.

113. One should not perform ancestral rites at night, nor should one adorn oneself after eating. A person desiring prosperity should not perform water rituals at night.
