महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-55, verse-79

क्व क्षत्रिया यास्यथ नैष धर्मः सतां पुरस्तात्कथितः पुराणैः ।
मा स्वां प्रतिज्ञां जहत प्रवीराः स्वं वीरधर्मं परिपालयध्वम् ॥७९॥
79. kva kṣatriyā yāsyatha naiṣa dharmaḥ; satāṁ purastātkathitaḥ purāṇaiḥ ,
mā svāṁ pratijñāṁ jahata pravīrāḥ; svaṁ vīradharmaṁ paripālayadhvam.
79. kva kṣatriyāḥ yāsyatha na eṣaḥ
dharmaḥ satām purastāt kathitaḥ purāṇaiḥ
mā svām pratijñām jahata pravīrāḥ
svam vīradharmam paripālayadhvam
79. kṣatriyāḥ kva yāsyatha? eṣaḥ dharmaḥ satām purastāt purāṇaiḥ kathitaḥ na.

79. “Where will you Kṣatriyas go? This is not the (dharma) that has been declared by the ancients (purāṇas) before the noble. O heroes, do not abandon your own vow! Uphold your own warrior's (dharma).”
