महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-55, verse-14

नासीद्रथपथस्तत्र योधैर्युधि निपातितैः ।
गजैश्च पतितैर्नीलैर्गिरिशृङ्गैरिवावृतम् ॥१४॥
14. nāsīdrathapathastatra yodhairyudhi nipātitaiḥ ,
gajaiśca patitairnīlairgiriśṛṅgairivāvṛtam.
14. na āsīt rathapathaḥ tatra yodhaiḥ yudhi nipātitaiḥ
gajaiḥ ca patitaiḥ nīlaiḥ giriśṛṅgaiḥ iva āvṛtam
14. tatra rathapathaḥ na āsīt,
yudhi nipātitaiḥ yodhaiḥ ca patitaiḥ nīlaiḥ gajaiḥ ca āvṛtam iva giriśṛṅgaiḥ.
14. There was no path for chariots there, as it was covered by warriors fallen in battle and by fallen dark elephants, resembling scattered mountain peaks.
