महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-55, verse-37

जघानात्र पिता पुत्रं पुत्रश्च पितरं तथा ।
प्रियं सखायं चाक्रन्दे सखा दैवबलात्कृतः ॥३७॥
37. jaghānātra pitā putraṁ putraśca pitaraṁ tathā ,
priyaṁ sakhāyaṁ cākrande sakhā daivabalātkṛtaḥ.

priyam sakhāyam ca ākrandat sakhā daivabalātkṛtaḥ

37. In this battle, a father killed his son, and a son similarly killed his father. A friend, overpowered by the force of destiny (daiva), lamented for his dear friend.
