महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-40, verse-63

मम चासीन्मनुष्येन्द्र दृष्ट्वा कर्णस्य विक्रमम् ।
नैकोऽप्याधिरथेर्जीवन्पाञ्चाल्यो मोक्ष्यते युधि ॥६३॥
63. mama cāsīnmanuṣyendra dṛṣṭvā karṇasya vikramam ,
naiko'pyādhiratherjīvanpāñcālyo mokṣyate yudhi.

ekaḥ api ādhiraṭheḥ jīvan pāñcālyaḥ mokṣyate yudhi
63. manuṣyendra ca mama karṇasya vikramam dṛṣṭvā yudhi
ādhiraṭheḥ ekaḥ api pāñcālyaḥ jīvan na mokṣyate āsīt
63. And O king of men, upon seeing Karna's valor (vikrama), I believed that not even one Pāñcāla would escape alive from Adhiratha's son in battle.
