महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-40, verse-120

स विक्रमं हृतं मेने आत्मनः सुमहात्मना ।
तथास्य समरे राजन्वपुरासीत्सुदुर्दृशम् ॥१२०॥
120. sa vikramaṁ hṛtaṁ mene ātmanaḥ sumahātmanā ,
tathāsya samare rājanvapurāsītsudurdṛśam.
120. sa vikramam hṛtam mene ātmanaḥ sumahātmanā
tathā asya samare rājan vapuḥ āsīt sudurdṛśam
120. He (Arjuna) considered his own valor (vikrama) to have been diminished by that supremely great soul (Aśvatthāman). O King, his form (vapus) in battle was then very difficult to behold.
