महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-61, verse-96

सा गत्वाथापरां भूमिं बाष्पसंदिग्धया गिरा ।
विललापाश्रुपूर्णाक्षी दृष्ट्वाशोकतरुं ततः ॥९६॥
96. sā gatvāthāparāṁ bhūmiṁ bāṣpasaṁdigdhayā girā ,
vilalāpāśrupūrṇākṣī dṛṣṭvāśokataruṁ tataḥ.
96. sā gatvā atha aparām bhūmim bāṣpasaṃdigdhayā girā
vilalāpa aśrupūrṇākṣī dṛṣṭvā aśokatarum tataḥ
96. She, having then gone to another land, with eyes full of tears, lamented with a voice choked with emotion, after seeing an aśoka tree.
