मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-5, verse-34

न तादृशं भवत्येनो मृगहन्तुर्धनार्थिनः ।
यादृशं भवति प्रेत्य वृथामांसानि खादतः ॥३४॥
34. na tādṛśaṁ bhavatyeno mṛgahanturdhanārthinaḥ ,
yādṛśaṁ bhavati pretya vṛthāmāṁsāni khādataḥ.
34. na tāṛśam bhavaty enaḥ mṛgahantuḥ dhanārthinaḥ
yādṛśam bhavati pretya vṛthā māṃsāni khādtaḥ
34. mṛgahantuḥ dhanārthinaḥ enaḥ yādṛśam na bhavati
tāṛśam pretya vṛthā māṃsāni khādtaḥ bhavati
34. The sin is not as great for a hunter who seeks wealth as it is for one who eats meat unnecessarily after death.
