Carnivorous creatures (kravyāda) and birds (śakuna), as well as all village-dwelling creatures (grāmanivāsinaḥ), and those not specifically mentioned (anirdiṣṭāṃ), hedgehog (ekaśaphān), and the lapwing (ṭiṭṭibhaṃ), should be avoided (vivarjayet).
