Of all purifications (śaucānam), purity of wealth (arthaśaucam) is considered the highest (param). He who is pure in wealth (yo'rthe śuciḥ) is indeed pure (sa śuciḥ); one who is pure merely in clay and water (mṛdvāriśuciḥ) is not truly pure (na śuciḥ).
