वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-55, verse-74

संप्रस्रवंस्तदा मेदः शोणितं च महाबलः ।
वध्यमानो नगेन्द्राग्रैर्भक्षयामास वानरान् ।
ते भक्ष्यमाणा हरयो रामं जग्मुस्तदा गतिम् ॥७४॥
74. saṃprasravaṃstadā medaḥ śoṇitaṃ ca mahābalaḥ ,
vadhyamāno nagendrāgrairbhakṣayāmāsa vānarān ,
te bhakṣyamāṇā harayo rāmaṃ jagmustadā gatim.
74. samprasravan tadā medaḥ śoṇitam ca
mahābalaḥ vadhyamānaḥ nagendrāgraiḥ
bhakṣayāmāsa vānarān te bhakṣyamāṇāḥ
harayaḥ rāmam jagmuḥ tadā gatim
74. tadā medaḥ ca śoṇitam samprasravan mahābalaḥ nagendrāgraiḥ vadhyamānaḥ vānarān bhakṣayāmāsa.
te bhakṣyamāṇāḥ harayaḥ tadā rāmam gatim jagmuḥ.
74. Then, the mighty Kumbhakarna, with fat and blood flowing profusely, even as he was being struck by huge rocks (hurled by the monkeys), continued to devour the monkeys. Those monkeys, being devoured, then sought refuge (gati) with Rama.
