स वारिधारा इव सायकांस्तान्पिबञ् शरीरेण महेन्द्रशत्रुः ।
जघान रामस्य शरप्रवेगं व्याविध्य तं मुद्गरमुग्रवेगम् ॥१०९॥
109. sa vāridhārā iva sāyakāṃstānpibañ śarīreṇa mahendraśatruḥ ,
jaghāna rāmasya śarapravegaṃ vyāvidhya taṃ mudgaramugravegam.

109. Like one drinking streams of water, he (Kumbhakarṇa), the enemy of Mahendra, absorbed those arrows with his body. Then, brandishing his fiercely swift mace, he struck down the onslaught of Rāma's arrows.
