निकृत्तबाहुर्विनिकृत्तपादो विदार्य वक्त्रं वडवामुखाभम् ।
दुद्राव रामं सहसाभिगर्जन् राहुर्यथा चन्द्रमिवान्तरिक्षे ॥११८॥
118. nikṛttabāhurvinikṛttapādo vidārya vaktraṃ vaḍavāmukhābham ,
dudrāva rāmaṃ sahasābhigarjan rāhuryathā candramivāntarikṣe.

vidārya vaktrām vaḍavāmukhābham
dudrāva rāmam sahasā abhigarjan
rāhuḥ yathā chandram iva antarikṣe
118. nikṛttabāhuḥ vinikṛttapādaḥ vaḍavāmukhābham vaktrām vidārya sahasā abhigarjan,
rāhuḥ antarikṣe chandram iva yathā,
rāmam dudrāva.
118. With his arms and feet severed, and having opened wide his mouth resembling the submarine fire (vaḍavāmukha), he (Kumbhakarṇa), roaring fiercely, rushed towards Rāma, just as Rāhu rushes towards the moon in the sky.
