महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-326, verse-58

मत्पुत्रत्वं च कल्पादौ लोकाध्यक्षत्वमेव च ।
अहंकारकृतं चैव नाम पर्यायवाचकम् ॥५८॥
58. matputratvaṁ ca kalpādau lokādhyakṣatvameva ca ,
ahaṁkārakṛtaṁ caiva nāma paryāyavācakam.
58. matputratvam ca kalpa ādau lokādhyakṣatvam eva
ca ahaṅkārakṛtam ca eva nāma paryāyavācakam
58. And, at the beginning of a cosmic cycle (kalpa), [I granted him] the status of my son and indeed the position of overseer of the worlds. Also, a name that is a synonymous appellation, which is born from the ego (ahaṅkāra).
