मम चापि पिता तात कथयामास शंतनुः ।
ततो मयैतच्छ्रुत्वा च कीर्तितं तव भारत ॥१११॥

111. mama cāpi pitā tāta kathayāmāsa śaṁtanuḥ ,
tato mayaitacchrutvā ca kīrtitaṁ tava bhārata.

111. My father Śaṃtanu also narrated this, O dear one. Therefore, having heard this, I have recounted it to you, O Bhārata.
