महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-326, verse-43

माया ह्येषा मया सृष्टा यन्मां पश्यसि नारद ।
सर्वभूतगुणैर्युक्तं नैवं त्वं ज्ञातुमर्हसि ।
मयैतत्कथितं सम्यक्तव मूर्तिचतुष्टयम् ॥४३॥
43. māyā hyeṣā mayā sṛṣṭā yanmāṁ paśyasi nārada ,
sarvabhūtaguṇairyuktaṁ naivaṁ tvaṁ jñātumarhasi ,
mayaitatkathitaṁ samyaktava mūrticatuṣṭayam.
43. māyā hi eṣā mayā sṛṣṭā yat mām paśyasi
nārada sarvabhūtaguṇaiḥ yuktam
na evam tvam jñātum arhasi mayā etat
kathitam samyak tava mūrticatuṣṭayam
43. nārada eṣā māyā hi mayā sṛṣṭā yat tvam
sarvabhūtaguṇaiḥ yuktam mām paśyasi
evam tvam jñātum na arhasi mayā tava
mūrticatuṣṭayam etat samyak kathitam
43. This (māyā) indeed is an illusion (māyā) created by me, by which you perceive me, Nārada, endowed with the qualities of all beings. You are not able to truly know me in this manner. By me, your four forms have been properly explained (to you).
