मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-51, verse-77

प्रविश्य गर्भमत्त्येको भुक्त्वा मोहयतेऽपरा ।
जायन्ते मोहनात्तस्याः सर्पमण्डूककच्छपाः ॥७७॥
77. praviśya garbhamattyeko bhuktvā mohayate'parā .
jāyante mohanāttasyāḥ sarpamaṇḍūkakacchapāḥ.
77. praviśya garbham atti ekaḥ bhuktvā mohayate aparā
| jāyante mohanāt tasyāḥ sarpamaṇḍūkacchapāḥ
77. One (such a son), having entered the womb, causes the destruction of the embryo. Another (such a daughter), having enjoyed (life), causes delusion. From the deluding influence of such a daughter, snakes, frogs, and turtles are born.
