मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-51, verse-66

सोऽस्थिमज्जागतः पुंसां बलमत्त्यजितात्मनाम् ।
श्येन-काक-कपोतांश्च गृध्रोलूकैश्च वै सुतान् ॥६६॥
66. so'sthimajjāgataḥ puṃsāṃ balamattyajitātmanām .
śyena-kāka-kapotāṃśca gṛdhrolūkaiśca vai sutān.
66. सः अस्थिमज्जागतः पुंसाम् बलम् अत्ति अजितात्मनाम्
श्येन-काक-कपोतान् च गृध्र-उलूकैः च वै सुतान्
66. Residing in the bones and marrow of men who have not conquered their lower self (ātman), he consumes their strength. Indeed, he consumes their sons through falcons, crows, pigeons, vultures, and owls.
