मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-51, verse-47

अष्टमी द्वेषणी नाम कन्या लोकभयावहा ।
या करोति जनद्विष्टं नरं नारीमथापि वा ॥४७॥
47. aṣṭamī dveṣaṇī nāma kanyā lokabhayāvahā .
yā karoti janadviṣṭaṃ naraṃ nārīmathāpi vā.
