महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-186, verse-45

तथा च पृथिवीपाल यो भवेद्धर्मसंयुतः ।
अल्पायुः स हि मन्तव्यो न हि धर्मोऽस्ति कश्चन ॥४५॥
45. tathā ca pṛthivīpāla yo bhaveddharmasaṁyutaḥ ,
alpāyuḥ sa hi mantavyo na hi dharmo'sti kaścana.
45. tathā ca pṛthivīpāla yaḥ bhavet dharma-saṃyutaḥ
alpāyuḥ saḥ hi mantavyaḥ na hi dharmaḥ asti kaścana
45. And so, O protector of the earth, whoever is connected with natural law (dharma) should be considered short-lived, for indeed, no natural law (dharma) whatsoever exists (to protect them).
