महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-186, verse-16

एष कर्ता न क्रियते कारणं चापि पौरुषे ।
यो ह्येनं पुरुषं वेत्ति देवा अपि न तं विदुः ॥१६॥
16. eṣa kartā na kriyate kāraṇaṁ cāpi pauruṣe ,
yo hyenaṁ puruṣaṁ vetti devā api na taṁ viduḥ.
16. eṣaḥ kartā na kriyate kāraṇam ca api pauruṣe
yaḥ hi enam puruṣam vetti devāḥ api na tam viduḥ
16. He is the creator but is not Himself created; He is also the cause of the cosmic person (puruṣa). Indeed, he who knows this cosmic person (puruṣa) — even the gods do not know Him (the cosmic person).
