मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-78

उद्वहेत् पितृमात्रोश्च सप्तमीं पञ्चमीन्तथा ।
रक्षेद्दारान् त्यजेदीर्ष्यां दिवा च स्वप्नमैथुने ॥७८॥
78. udvahet pitṛmātrośca saptamīṃ pañcamīntathā .
rakṣeddārān tyajedīrṣyāṃ divā ca svapnamaithune.
78. udvahet pitṛmātroḥ ca saptamīm pañcamīm tathā
rakṣet dārān tyajet īrṣyām divā ca svapnamaitune
78. One should marry beyond the seventh generation on the father's side and the fifth generation on the mother's side. One should protect one's wives and abandon jealousy. Moreover, one should avoid sleeping and engaging in sexual intercourse during the day.
