मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-34, verse-30

उच्छिष्टो नालपेत् किञ्चित् स्वाध्यायञ्च विवर्जयेत् ।
गां ब्राह्मणं तथा चाग्निं स्वमूर्धानञ्च न स्पृशेत् ॥३०॥
30. ucchiṣṭo nālapet kiñcit svādhyāyañca vivarjayet .
gāṃ brāhmaṇaṃ tathā cāgniṃ svamūrdhānañca na spṛśet.
30. ucchiṣṭaḥ na ālapet kiñcit svādhyāyam ca vivarjayet
gām brāhmaṇam tathā ca agnim svamūrdhānam ca na spṛśet
30. One who is impure (ucchiṣṭaḥ) should not speak anything, and should avoid Vedic study (svādhyāyam). He should not touch a cow, a Brahmin, fire, or his own head.
