यज्ञदानतपांसीह पुरुषस्य च भूतये ।
भवन्ति यः सदाचारं समुल्लङ्घ्य प्रवर्तते ॥७॥

Sacrifices (yajña), acts of charity (dāna), and austerities (tapas) are for a person's (puruṣa) welfare in this world; but this is not the case for one who acts by completely transgressing good conduct (dharma).
